Cock vd Ploeg (English)
From as a kid l started drawing and round the age of 30 I started to follow lessons in Nieuwkoop. After starting with a pencil I quickly moved over to aquarel. Experienced all kinds of ways, including wet in wet and after that removing paint again and with white paint I added Tibetan liric to it. Later I followed lessons in Mijdrecht with AKM. Cutting in wood and linoleum is a nice way to find the light in the dark. Carefully I got aqcuinted with oil paint and brush and after that I totally got lost in palet knife and oil paint. Working with with charcoal and whit pastel on black paper is getting light and dark to work together in something figurative. For my works I am searching for no daily portraits, sometimes people together and then again so enlarge that you almost don't recognize it anymore as human. I am an autodidact learning still everyday. Unfortunately Cock passed away in March 2020.
